When we lived in Azerbaijan, we took the most memorable trip to a remote mountain village called Khinaliq. We stayed with a family, took in the scenery, observed life in the village, and enjoyed the greatest hospitality. We had fun making friends with the children and taking their photos. As we walked down the rocky streets, I noticed this little boy who was so proud of his ingenious, but simple car made of coat hangers.
I have remembered this image often because it is a strong reminder that sometimes the things that make us happy and cause us joy are very, very simple. It’s our imagination that adds the body, paint, headlights, windshield, horn and engine.
